Ugra establishes partnership with the Emirate of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova held a working meeting with the President of the Emirate of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sharjah Expocenter Abdullah Sultan Al Owais at the margins of EXPO 2020 in Dubai.
During the meeting, Abdullah Owais told the Head of the Region that the services provided by the Chamber cover air services, cargo transportation, port activities, banking and many other industries.
"In June 2021, the Government of the United Arab Emirates made an important decision, according to which foreign companies can own 100 percent of enterprises in 4 thousand names," the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry continued. "At the site of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we conduct activities in such areas as B2B, organization of trade and business missions. In this regard, we need to assess in which direction we can move together, what goods and services Ugra can present at the sites of the UAE. We are ready to cooperate with the Autonomous Okrug."
"We discussed joint work on organizing business missions to Ugra and the Emirate of Sharjah, attracting investors to projects of the Autonomous Okrug, including participation in the investment partnership TerraVC with the President of the Emirate of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sharjah Expocenter Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, assistant to the president of the Chamber Abdelaziz Mohammed, managing partner of Phystech Ventures Danila Shaposhnikov," Natalia Komarova posted in her social media accounts. "Another topic raised at the meeting was the search for sites to promote the products of Ugra manufacturers. We agreed on further cooperation in this area, exchange of experience, creation of a platform on the territory of the UAE with the presented Ugra goods."
Director of the Department of Economic Development - Deputy Governor Roman Genkel, presenting the investment potential of Ugra, said that the region is ready to export the products of Ugra Timber Holding, services provided by service enterprises, IT companies and many others.
In turn, Abdulla Owais asked Natalia Komarova how the business sphere of the Autonomous Okrug overcame restrictions imposed in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. Head of the Region noted that the region studied the experience of other constituent entities of Russia and foreign states. "Basically, our economy is based on oil and gas production, we have not suspended activities in various areas of economy, including related ones. At the same time, various protective protocols of personal and collective security based on forecast indicators and people's well–being were developed and implemented," Natalia Komarova stressed.
The Governor recalled that the population is currently being vaccinated against COVID-19 in Russia. Over 800 thousand people have already been immunized.
In Ugra, during the pandemic period, remote learning was used in schools, secondary and higher educational organizations. In this regard, potential of Ugra in the field of IT, the opportunities that open up thanks to the introduction of high technologies, played an important role.
"We wish health to every resident of your region. We wish that the year 2022 is as usual, and we will all return to our usual life and business," Abdullah Owais said.
He emphasized that the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry is ready to build fruitful cooperation with Ugra and the regional business community.
"A hospitable, effective platform for doing business has been created in Ugra," Natalia Komarova stated.
Deputy Governor Alexey Zabozlaev invited delegates, members of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to participate in the events of the international IT Forum with the participation of the BRICS and SCO countries and Ugra Industrial and Investment Forum in 2022.
Natalia Komarova also held a working meeting with the head of the investment program of the Mubadala Fund in Russia and the CIS, Fariz Almazrui.
The Governor noted that establishment of a center for study of the human genome is among the priority projects in Ugra. At the same time, residents of the Arctic and Subarctic zones have a special value for science. "This project is supported by the President of the Russian Federation," the `Head of the Region noted.
Fariz Almazrui stressed that the economies of Ugra and the United Arab Emirates are similar due to the fact that the basis for them is oil and gas production industry. In this regard, there are prospects for mutually beneficial, fruitful joint work to improve the technological efficiency, digitalization of the hydrocarbon production industry, and strengthening economic diversification for the parties.
He also noted that in 2021, Chairman of the UAE government made a decision, according to which private investors can count on compensation for the costs of implementing the project in the amount of up to 50 percent.
"The company invests in a venture fund partner of Ugra "Phystech Ventures". Ugra began to cooperate with the organization in 2020. Three oil and service companies - Perfobur Service LLC, Uvl Robotics LLC, Lex Western Siberia LLC - have localized their production in our region. Participation of Alexey Besprozvannykh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Danila Shaposhnikov, Managing Partner of Phystech Ventures, and Tadeusz Dobrovolsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eurasia Gulf, gave special value to that dialogue. We discussed possible prospects for cooperation. They agreed that the economies of the United Arab Emirates and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra are similar. We discussed the entry of Mubadala into a new venture fund, support for organizations that need financing for growth and development," Natalia Komarova wrote on social networks.
