Department of Public and External Relations of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra informs:
The Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova took part in the events of the National Day of Russia at EXPO 2020, which is being held in Dubai.
"Our countries are linked by friendly and partnership relations, which are steadily developing. Last year, the mutual trade turnover reached a record level – $3.3 billion. For 10 months of this year, the volume of bilateral trade has grown by almost 75 percent and exceeded $ 4 billion. This is a new historical maximum," Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, opening the National Day.
Prime Minister noted that advanced inventions and technologies are presented at the EXPO site, scientific knowledge and experience are being exchanged, which creates good prospects for strengthening international cooperation in a wide range of areas.
The Russian side considers participation in the exhibition as a unique opportunity to demonstrate the achievements of the state in all areas: Russian pavilion is one of the largest and it's area is about 4 thousand square meters. It combines the most interesting Russian projects and expositions of the regions.
"We defined our exhibition concept as "Creative Mind: Uniting the Future". Its idea is to integrate the best minds of all States in the interests of the well-being and prosperity of mankind. Russian science has always been at the forefront of world progress. Our innovators and designers have invented a radio receiver, an electric light bulb, and television. We were the first in space. And this is a long list. At the same time, Russia, trying to be the first, never goes alone. We invite international scientific community to new joint research and development in the most high-tech areas, including space, aviation, green energy, and atoms for peace. We believe that the technological future is a common cause, there can be no borders and prohibitions, national reservations or unilateral restrictions," Mikhail Mishustin stressed.
In addition, Natalia Komarova took part in the main plenary session of the forum "Russia: Defining the Future", held at the site of the world exhibition "EXPO 2020" in Dubai as part of the National Day of Russia.
Its participants discussed the issues of eliminating the consequences caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, aspects of geopolitical, social, economic challenges, and a search for new solutions in forming the future.
In addition, the agenda included introduction of new technologies, development of innovative business models, creation of relevant products and services, and social responsibility.
"In the pre-pandemic period, we worked on the "Industry 4.0" system, meaning digitalization, rapprochement of contacts between countries, manufacturers. As a result, in the midst of a pandemic of a new coronavirus infection, all these chains fell apart due to the formation of a massive shortage of components, restrictions on movement between countries. This has left an imprint on our idea of how we should conceptually build the industry of our countries," Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said at the meeting.
"In our country, along with other European countries, 21 percent of the energy balance is hydropower with renewable energy sources, 20 percent is nuclear energy. We have only 13 percent of coal-fired generation. Thus, we say that our energy balance today is "green". At the same time, the President of Russia has stated that by 2050 we must completely abandon coal generation and add even more "green" energy," the Minister continued.
Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank, German Gref, stressed that at the current stage of development it is extremely important to provide human resources for economic sectors with specialists who are able to adapt to rapidly changing economic conditions: "Today it is necessary to say that no matter how the economy changes, we must adapt to it. This is very important. Technology is the main trend that shows how the world will change. It is obvious that with the pace at which technology is currently developing, a person is not able to develop. This is the key contradiction that we have now and will have in the future. Even today, structural unemployment is a fact, and it will only increase every year."
According to him, in the modern world, modernization of the education system is required. That will ensure training of flexible specialists who are able to adapt to the existing conditions.
"Transport routes through the Russian North are vital for the world. We can connect the continents in a different way. This is one of the most promising areas of investment," German Gref said.
On December 5, the Russian pavilion hosted the Ugra Day, during which investment, oil and gas, scientific, and economic potential of the Autonomous Okrug was presented to the guests.
Composer, musician, chairperson of the public organization of culture of indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North "Ma Meham", member of the Public Chamber of Ugra, goodwill ambassador of the international organization of northern regions "Northern Forum" Vera Kondratieva presented a creative performance, which opened the Day of Ugra in the Russian pavilion.
