More than 4 thousand participants took part in the Ugra Ski Marathon

Ugra Ski Marathon took place on April 9, in Khanty-Mansiysk. More than 4.2 thousand participants from 62 regions of Russia and Kazakhstan have registered for it.

For the first time, the marathon takes place over two days - April 8-9. Its program includes the 50 km classic style race, which took place on April 8, and the 5, 25 and 50 km freestyle races scheduled for April 9.

Start of the races was traditionally given by the Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Natalia Komarova. "We strive to develop the Ugra Ski Marathon, Ugra sport. I would like to thank everyone who is passionate about sports, is engaged in it, participates in sports training. We started in 2013 with 781 people, now there are more than 4 thousand of us," Natalia Komarova said.

Silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Beijing Ivan Yakimushkin became the winner of the Ugra marathon in 50 km freestyle. The athlete covered the distance in 1 hour 44 minutes 26 seconds. The second was the Russian biathlete Eduard Latypov. The top three was completed by skier Gleb Zealous.

Anastasia Kuleshova won the women's championship. Her result is 1 hour 46 minutes 19.4 seconds. The second place was taken by the Olympic champion in the relay, the owner of the Big Crystal Globe of the 2021/22 season Natalia Nepryaeva. The third was Ekaterina Smirnova.

Elena Vyalbe, President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, assessed the level of the Ugra Ski Marathon. According to her, the weather was especially pleasing. "Today everything is as it should be, everything is for athletes and spectators," Elena Vyalbe said.

Vladislav Tukachev, an athlete from Perm, won at a distance of 25 km among men. Alexander Rudakov from Chelyabinsk came second, Platon Islamshin from Chaunsky district came third. Ksenia Bushmeleva from Khanty-Mansiysk celebrated the victory, Anastasia Kameneva from Surgut came second. The third was Svetlana Vasenina from Troitsk.

On April 8, at the 50 km classic style race in the men's race, the best time was shown by the bronze medalist of the 2013 World Championship, winner of the World Cup stage, two-time world champion among youth, silver medalist of Tour de Ski 2015 Evgeny Belov. He covered the 50-kilometer route in 2 hours, 15 minutes, 49 seconds. Three-time champion of Russia, winner of international competitions, master of sports of international class in cross-country skiing Sergey Turyshev from Surgut finished second. The third was Russian skier Sergey Spirin from Ekaterinburg with a result of 2 hours 16 minutes 19 seconds.

Among women, Maria Kozekaeva from Serov won, with a time of 2 hours 28 minutes 15 seconds. Anastasia Ignatieva from the Tlyaratinsky district came second, having covered the distance in 2 hours, 31 minutes and 13 seconds. The third was Zhanna Antonova from Yevpatoria. Her time was 2 hours 47 minutes 48 seconds.

The marathon has been held since 2013. Organizers of the race are the government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, the Federation of Ski Races of Ugra, Otkrytie Bank.
