Department of Public and External Relations of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra informs:
Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug has started implementing the project Industrial tourism in Ugra, which involves tourists and residents of Ugra visiting industrial enterprises.
According to Kirill Zaitsev, Director of the Department of Industry of Ugra, during the round table Industrial tourism, which was held within the framework of the tourist forum Ugratour-2020, industrial tourism is an important trend and one of the most promising areas of industry development.
'Ugra is a region where more than half of Russian petroleum is produced. However, not everyone in Russia knows how this oil is extracted. Our task is to involve companies in this field to show their achievements and technologies, increasing the interest of tourists. And we see great potential in this. In 2021, in order to implement the project, it is planned to conclude an agreement with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) on development of industrial tourism in our Okrug. As part of this work, it is planned that the ASI will provide methodological and organizational assistance,' Kirill Zaitsev explained.
In addition, according to the Head of the Department, Ugra relies on development of eco-tourism in specially protected natural areas.
'State nature reserves, nature parks, nature reserves of Federal and regional significance develop ecological routes and programs, expeditions that allow one to study the ecosystem of Ugra and get acquainted with the sights of historical and cultural heritage,' Kirill Zaitsev said.
In Ugra, there are 33 environmental programs from natural parks, reserves of local lore and environmental education: children's environmental camps, visiting tours, tourist programs and routes.
Director of the Department of Industry added that Ugra plans to form necessary infrastructure for further development of eco-tourism: ecological paths, equipped paths, viewing platforms, recreation places and facilities, information boards, navigation signs, as well as tourist and recreational clusters within the framework of the integrated development of specially protected natural territories.
