IFPEN will share its unique experience of education in the oil and gas industry with Ugra

Today, on November 15, the Governor of the Autonomous Okrug Natalia Komarova held a regular meeting during which the members of the Okrug’s government unanimously approved the Draft Memorandum of Cooperation between Ugra and the French Renewable Energy Institute (IFPEN).
“The memorandum will define the areas of cooperation between the parties. Among them are development and implementation of joint scientific programs and projects in the field of enhanced oil recovery, development and implementation of joint educational projects and programs in the oil and gas industry, including projects to develop international educational standards and standards for certification of oil and gas professionals, holding and participation in events aimed at improving the efficiency of activities in this industry,” the head of the region commented.
Sergey Filatov, Director of the Department of Subsoil Use and Natural Resources of Ugra, emphasized that the French Renewable Energy Institute is one of the world’s largest scientific and educational centres, possesses unique technological developments that allow to solve the issues of optimization of geological exploration, and to increase the coefficient of oil recovery and environmental problems.
According to him, cooperation with this institution will allow the Autonomous Okrug to reach the international level in the spheres of scientific activity and education in the oil and gas industry, as they are the main competences of the Institute.
“We are talking about two main areas of interaction: technological, innovative and technological solutions in the field of oil recovery and personnel, educational components, including certification of specialists in the field of oil recovery enhancement, the creation of special modules, master’s programs to improve competencies in this area,” Sergey Filatov explained.
The memorandum will form the basis for the work of regional universities, the Ugra Research Institute of Information Technologies, the Shpilman Scientific Analytical Centre for Rational Use of Subsoil Resources and other institutions with the French Institute for Renewable Energy and its subsidiaries.
The signing of the Memorandum will take place in early December in Paris. The document is signed for an indefinite period
