11 Ugra residents participated in the Summer Olympic Games

Department of Public and External Relations of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra informs:

11 Ugra residents have joined the national teams of Russia to participate in the 32 Summer Olympic Games, which will take place in Tokyo, Japan, from July 23 to August 8.

"One of those who joined the Russian national team was Albert Batyrgaziev (boxing), a master of sports of Russia of international class, Asian champion according to the WBA Asia version in the second featherweight. His mentor, Honored coach of Russia Ruslan Kushtanov tells him: "I want to wish the athletes of the national team, Ugra residents, productive training, beautiful victories, performances. As they say, the strongest are lucky, but there is a fortune effect in competitions. Everything can change literally in the last seconds, so luck is necessary for anyone, " Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova wrote in herInstagram account.

The Head of the Region also noted that the national team included Anna Timofeeva (water polo), Anna Egorova, Anastasia Guzhenkova and Ilya Druzhinin (swimming), Zaurbek Sidakov and Artur Naifonov (freestyle wrestling), Maxim Khramtsov (taekwondo), Timur Naniev (weightlifting). The men's national team includes volleyball players Artem Volvich from the Nizhnevartovsk volleyball club "Samotlor" and a representative of the Surgut volleyball club "Gazprom-Ugra" Igor Kobzar.

"This is our Ugra team of winners of all-Russian and international competitions. We are rooting for our people. I wish every Russian athlete to become a champion of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games, " Natalia Komarova wrote.

During the 32 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, 339 sets of medals will be awarded in 33 sports.

335 athletes – 150 men and 185 women-will defend the honor of Russia at the competitions.
